First Date
Wow, my first post of the new year. Guess I'm late as always with this. I'm just going to give a brief overview of everything that followed after the accident.. There's just too much to list.
I have a new car now, it's a 2002 silver Honda Civic. Although two days after I got it I had to have the battery replaced, it seems like it's doing reasonably well now.
I finally received the title to my Corolla, but my dad and I are both listed as the owners. So, I have to have it notarized, send it my dad and have him sign & notarize it, and then forward it to the insurance company. Then I'll get the final check and be done with the automobile portion of the claim.
As for the medical, I'm still working through it. The day after the accident, I could see that there was a big black & blue mark just above my kneecap. At first I thought I must have hit it on the dashboard, but the more I looked at it, the more I realize it must have been the steering wheel. Anyway, two weeks after the accident, my knee got a horrible pain just below the knee cap, to the point where I couldn't even walk on it, it hurt so much. I went to the doctor, they took x-rays but didn't find any kind of permanent damage, short of taking an MRI. They subscribed physical therapy, so that's what I've been going to for the past two weeks. It seems to be going well - I haven't taken advil since Tuesday and the therapist thinks the swelling in my knee is going down. More importantly, I can walk, even if it feels a little awkward still.
On to more interesting things.. Last weekend I had the pleasure of going out with Katherine, a really cute & cool girl who's going to Baldwin-Wallace here in the area. We took a little walk over to a coffee shop and hung out, talking about random things, while drinking hot chocolate. At one point during our conversation she said "Heck yes" and then proceeded to ask if I had ever seen Napoleon Dynamite.. Wow. Since it was such a nice day out, we took a stroll around the campus and she was showing me some of the buildings. It was interesting to be on a campus again. We hung out at her dorm for a little bit, and ended up watching Pirates of the Caribbean together.
We had both said we were more introverted, so I was prepared to deal with a little bit of awkwardness, but I gotta say I felt pretty comfortable around her & hopefully she felt the same. Most importantly though, she's got a good set of Christian values, which is awesome. Anyhow, she was out of town for the weekend, so we didn't get together, but hopefully we'll go out again soon. Instead I watched a bunch of movies, ran errands (as always) and am trying to stay warm since it actually feels like winter now.
The Super Bowl is on in a little bit, and I'm prepared to watch it [mainly for the commercials]. Got some pizza yesterday so I wouldn't have to order today [I worked at a Pizza Hut on a Superbowl Sunday once.. and it was the most awful thing.. ever..] Anyway, I'll keep you posted!
