Moving Estimates
Well, things have finally progressed...
I had two estimators [who actually showed up!] to look around. The one I had to eliminate because the final price was outrageous. He was going to have to charge for 6300 lbs as a minimum, which would have been more than $4000. He was really nice about it though, agreeing this was an insane estimate, and gave me a contact of another mover who was better suited for smaller moves.
I'm currently waiting on the last of 4 scheduled estimates. They were supposed to be here at 4:30, but again, problems arose. I called at 5:00, and was told that the driver had mechanical problems and was running late on all of his estimates - I'm currently waiting to hear back about that. [currently 5:25]
In other news, things with ICI have cleared up - evidentally what I did receive was the final offer, and I got an email confirming my start date as Sept 12th. I also came home to a note from UPS that says there is a package from ICI waiting for me too. Again, waiting for a call back on that so I can pick it up today.
I called the apartment complex I'm moving into, to find out why I hadn't received the information yet. I guess there must have been a typo when she wrote down my email. I gave her two other addresses and this time it came through fine. This is very good, because now I have the information to get the electric, gas, telephone, and cable setup. Oh, and I have my address too!
I turned in my notice at Stony Hill and found out that there's a 30 day notice policy. I figured there was probably something like that. So basically, I'll have to pay until September 9th. That's fine, no big deal. I'm just happy the process is finally moving forward.
Oh, and also, I already made a connection with someone who lives in North Royalton. She's a Penn State alumni [also graduated in 2003] and she is living at the same apartment complex! What are the odds? So, I'll probably try to meet up with her at some point too.
Alright, that's enough of an update for now. More later.
