Start a gang

There's a big benefit to starting your own gang, especially early in the game. The top ranked gang each day (points accumulated in a single day, not total overall points) receives $200/day. Since hardly anyone plays this game anymore, you should have no trouble getting some extra cash here. The downside? Nothing! It doesn't cost you anything or take away from your personal hacking points.

The "Pull" Method

Some of the hostile ICE programs you encounter in a system will continue to track you through cyberspace, even if you leave exit system. You can use this to your advantage, by taunting a system, leaving and then seeing what follows you out into the grid. This gives you more open space to work with, and you'll only have to deal with a few programs at a time. Guardians & Fences will not chase you outside a system, but other programs will. Destroy/Damage them, enter the system again, and repeat.

Special systems for 14/15 programs:

In most cities, there is a special Level-5 system. When entering, this system will look less cluttered than other systems you will encounter, with memory and CPUs being placed very methodically. In these systems, you will find 2 level 14 programs, and 2 level 15 programs. Very handy! Here are the locations of some of the known programs:
