The idea of an Artist Trading Card [ATC] is very new to me. I don't consider myself much of an artist. In fact, most of my day is spent at work where I am a software developer. My wife recently got me interested in the site swap-bot.com and on most visits, I found myself skipping over a large portion of the swaps because they fell into the 'ATC' category. After some internal debate, I finally decided I wanted to give it a try. My art skills are still pretty basic, but I hope this gallery will show my improvements, as well as highlight the interesting pieces of art I have received from others.

My Creations

These cards were created for the swap "Idioms & Oxymorons" (Oct 2008)

"Kick the Bucket"

"Virtual Reality"

This card was created for the swap "Favorite Quote" (Nov 2008)

"Gandhi's Vision"
I'm still playing around with mediums, so in this swap, I chose the quote "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" by Gandhi (sidenote: yes, there are different variations of this quote.. I used this version because it was exactly 36 letters without spaces, which fit nicely in a 9 by 4 grid) Since this swap had to do with being blind, I chose to convert the quote to braille, and then painted over the braille (glue spots) with acrylic paint in the form of an Indian flag. It's different, and I like it.
